Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to animals, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed
- Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, cages, and common areas to promote health and hygiene
- Assist with dog training exercises and reinforce positive behaviors during daily routines
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their well-being and staff safety
- Support pet grooming activities such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and presentable
- Monitor animal behavior for signs of illness or distress and report findings to veterinary staff promptly
- Offer excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets’ needs and care routines
Requirements
- Prior experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or kennel work is highly preferred
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and basic veterinary procedures is a plus
- Strong background in pet grooming or veterinary technician experience is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move kennels or supplies safely
- Excellent animal handling skills combined with patience and compassion for animals of all temperaments
- Good communication skills to interact positively with clients and team members
- A proactive attitude with a passion for animal care and customer service
