Nettle Creek School Corporation Superintendent, Mrs. Emily Schaeffer, has announced a vacancy notice for a Speech Language Pathologist. This is a full time position beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCC from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred (CFY accepted)
- SLP licensure from the Indiana PLA and the Indiana DOE for communication disorders
- Experience working with special needs children in a school setting
- Strong work ethic, willingness to learn and grow, collaborative, people person.
- Experience working with elementary, middle, and high school students and with colleagues at all levels.
Job Duties:
- Conduct thorough educational evaluations for speech and language impairment.
- Provide speech and language therapy that follows each student’s Individualized Education Plan.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans as the teacher of record.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Special Education Department on curriculum, instruction, assessment, and IEP compliance.
- Provide timely communication with students and parents regarding student progress.
- Maintain compliance with Article 7 and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Serve as a core member of the Case Conference Committee; collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop legally defensible IEPs.
Utilize the state-mandated IDOE Special Programs web-based system for all documentation, ensuring deadlines for annual reviews and re-evaluations are met. Provide direct and indirect services in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE), including pull-out, push-in, and consultative models.
