A Better Chance School is one of the best non-public schools for children diagnosed with autism in the Bay area and we are looking for an amazing new Occupational Therapist to join our team.
Must have a valid California OT license. Competitive salary and flexible hours. Full time position.
The following is a list of services covering what the OT will provide:
a) Direct services (i.e. individual sessions, group sessions, push-in) for Occupational Therapy per the number of services stipulated on a Student’s Individualized Education Plan (i.e. 2x30/wk.) on the overall current or future NPS caseload (or otherwise specified).
b) Consultation services with the appropriate parties or members of the team (i.e. parents, teachers, educational specialists, etc.) for Occupational Therapy per the number of services stipulated on a Student’s Individualized Education Plan (i.e. 2x30/wk.) on the overall current or future NPS caseload (or otherwise specified).
c) Administration, preparation and completion of any and all pertinent assessments or evaluations for any student on the current or future NPS caseload (or otherwise specified) as needed per the request of the IEP team or NPS.
d) Completion of a regularly maintained log of student services rendered noting date and beginning and ending time of services.
e) Attendance and participation in IEP team meetings as scheduled by the IEP team or NPS with OT goals submitted two weeks in advance of scheduled IEP team meetings.
f) Complete and report on Student Progress on a quarterly basis for all students on the current or future NPS caseload (or otherwise specified).
g) Correspond and maintain contact with members of the IEP team per student or case wishes, and maintain open levels of communication with NPS upon request.
h) Report suspected abuse, keep student’s records confidential and maintain and respect Welfare and Safety Codes relevant to both Mandated Reporting guidelines and the Regulations of the California Department of Education.
i) Completion of an annual Sexual Harassment Training as provided by the NPS.
Hours of Service:
Hours of services are customarily Monday through Friday between 8:30am and 3:30pm. Early or late hours can be provided on an as needed basis, subject to the sole discretion of the NPS and agreement with the OT.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 21 years of age
- OT agrees to provide NPS with active and current verification of Occupational Therapy Board Licensure and any materials indicating qualifications within the minimum requirements for providing Occupational Therapy Services as defined in California Department of Education Code.
- Experience working with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities
- Ability to meet Community Care Licensing requirements to include: (1) physical examination (2) TB test (3) DOJ and FBI criminal record clearance (4) COVID vaccination
- A valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle insurance coverage, and a clean driving record
- Ability to work well with a diverse population of clients, families, and staff

Full-time: Mondays through Fridays; ABC School calendar days
