We are seeking an EKG Technician I to perform electrocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitoring, arterial blood gas analysis, and related diagnostic studies. The technician operates specialized equipment to measure and record cardiac activity, providing test results to clinicians.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ of on-the-job training under the supervision of a Board Certified Cardiologist.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ of experience with Echocardiographic (EKG) equipment.
Responsibility Highlights
Perform electrocardiograms in accordance with department procedures to regulatory, department and hospital policies and procedures while in accordance with safety programs.
Perform treadmill, thallium, and Persantine stress test.
Conduct Holter monitor set-up and pacemaker evaluation in accordance with department procedure running rhythm strip during pacemaker procedure in x-ray with physician in charge.
Perform all related clerical duties such as typing, filing, copying, batching EKGs and stress test, answering phones, and sending pre-op documents over fax machine to cardiologist.
Place interpreted and uninterrupted graphs in patient’s chart (pre-op, stats, and ICU/IMC).
Assist with respiratory practitioners in cardiac arrest calls (code blue).
Assist with training of students and other hospital staff with regards to EKG policies and procedures.
Responsible for the daily operation of the EKG department and scheduling and performance of all EKG procedures.
Prepare patients for testing by attaching monitoring devices and explaining test procedures.
Set-up and calibrate necessary equipment.
Review patient’s records and interview patients to obtain additional information.
Operate various non-invasive monitoring devices.
Perform all instrument computer functions necessary to maintain EKG back-up records.
Record observations and analyzes test data to ensure appropriate data is collected.
Make necessary adjustments as required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.85 - $20.35 per hour
