American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of NICU Level IV or Pediatric ICU experience for a day shift position at a teaching hospital's children's hospital.

Pediatric respiratory therapy unit within a children's hospital at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital
-
Work settings include NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
Holiday rotation required
-
Weekend requirement every other weekend
-
No on-call requirements
-
Floating within scope may be required depending on experience level
-
No floating to sister facilities
-
Epic EMR preferred
-
Minimum 2-3 years of respiratory therapy experience required
-
NICU Level IV experience required; Pediatric ICU experience will be considered
-
RRT certification required
-
BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
-
NBRC and SC RCP (South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider) certifications accepted
-
License required if applicable
-
South Carolina RRT license must be in hand at time of start

Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
-
Experience with bronchoscopy patient care preferred
-
Skilled in airway management devices, suctioning, and extubation
-
Provide respiratory therapy care to critically ill pediatric and neonatal patients
-
First-time travelers will be considered for this position

Caribbean Blue scrub color required

Block scheduling may be requested prior to assignment but is not guaranteed
-
Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
-
All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration

Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may be accepted on a case-by-case basis
-
Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
-
During hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
