Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of deli foods including sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts with precision and care.
- Provide friendly, prompt service to customers by assisting with product selection and answering questions about menu items.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Upsell products by suggesting complementary items to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area, adhering to food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure all products are properly labeled and rotated for freshness.
- Support food safety management practices including proper sanitation, food storage, and waste disposal.
- Help with stocking and cleaning around the supermarket
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, food service, or retail sales is highly preferred; experience in quick service or fast-food restaurants is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for retail transactions.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks required in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management.
