Position Summary
DFW Longhorn Electric is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Sales & Business Development Manager to help grow our commercial service and light construction division throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
The ideal candidate will have an established network of commercial property managers, facility managers, ownership groups, general contractors, and commercial customers capable of generating immediate opportunities for our service technicians and project teams.
This is a relationship-driven role focused on developing long-term customer partnerships and generating profitable electrical service, maintenance, renovation, tenant finish-out, and construction opportunities.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who has spent time in the electrical industry, understands how electrical projects are performed in the field, and has developed a network of commercial customers and industry relationships that can generate opportunities for our service technicians and project teams. The ability to speak confidently with customers about electrical systems, troubleshoot potential issues, and identify project opportunities is critical to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with commercial property managers, facility managers, building engineers, ownership groups, and general contractors.
- Generate service calls, maintenance contracts, lighting projects, tenant finish-outs, capital improvement projects, EV charger installations, sign work opportunities, and other commercial electrical projects.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
- Conduct customer visits, site walks, and project assessments.
- Work closely with ownership, estimators, project managers, and service operations personnel to develop proposals and solutions.
- Maintain regular communication with existing customers to identify upcoming project opportunities.
- Track opportunities, customer interactions, and sales activities within company systems.
- Attend industry networking events, trade associations, property management meetings, and business development functions.
- Assist with customer retention and account growth strategies.
- Represent DFW Longhorn Electric in a professional manner at all times.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical sales, business development, project management, or related industry experience.
- Existing network of commercial industry contacts within the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
- Proven track record of generating commercial electrical opportunities and developing customer relationships.
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, service work, maintenance, and construction processes.
- Ability to identify customer needs and develop practical electrical solutions.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a commercial electrician.
- Texas Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
- Texas Master Electrician License preferred.
- Experience estimating commercial electrical projects.
- Experience managing electrical service work and small projects.
- Existing relationships with property managers, facility managers, general contractors, and commercial building owners.
- Property management industry experience.
- Multifamily industry experience.
- Active involvement with organizations such as BOMA, IREM, IFMA, Apartment Association, Chambers of Commerce, and related industry groups.
