Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting their favorite ice cream flavors and toppings with enthusiasm
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash register operations, including processing cash, credit, and debit payments while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures
- Prepare food items by scooping ice cream, adding toppings, and maintaining food safety standards in food preparation areas
- Upsell additional products such as specialty sundaes or beverages to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Maintain a clean workspace by sanitizing counters, utensils, and equipment regularly, ensuring compliance with sanitation and food safety regulations
- Manage customer orders with precision, ensuring timely service during busy periods while practicing excellent food handling techniques
- Assist with bussing tables and maintaining overall cleanliness of the serving area to promote a welcoming environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or quick service & fast food restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and the ability to engage with diverse guests
- Basic math skills for processing cash transactions accurately and managing retail math calculations
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move quickly between tasks, and operate kitchen equipment safely
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper sanitation procedures
- Experience in retail sales transactions, upselling techniques, and cash register operations is a plus
- Food industry experience including food handling, serving, bussing, and sanitation practices will set you apart
