Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and seat them promptly, providing attentive guest services throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clarity and completeness
- Serve food and drinks efficiently, including cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining high standards of presentation and safety
- Process all sales transactions accurately, including cash handling and credit card payments via POS systems like OpenTable or other platforms
- Upsell menu items such as specialty drinks or desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales revenue
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery while managing guest expectations effectively
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and other restaurant-specific software
- Proven experience in food service roles with a focus on fine dining or casual dining environments
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and handle guest inquiries professionally
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy service hours
- Knowledge of beverage service including spirits, wine, cocktails, and drink presentation techniques
- Ability to process cash transactions accurately while maintaining attention to detail in sales transactions
- Food handling certification and understanding of sanitation standards in the food industry
- Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation management platforms is a plus
- Basic math skills for bill calculations and inventory management
- Culinary experience or kitchen familiarity is advantageous for coordinating with kitchen staff effectively
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales revenue
- Strong communication skills coupled with hospitality expertise to deliver exceptional guest relations
