Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides non-medical, hands-on personal care and supportive services to clients in their homes. CNAs work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) and Clinical Supervisor to assist clients with activities of daily living while promoting independence, dignity, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Provide toileting and incontinence care
- Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility
- Prepare light meals and assist with feeding when needed
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and linen changes
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and community outings when assigned
- Assist with medication reminders (no medication administration)
- Monitor and report changes in the client's condition to the supervising nurse
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided
- Follow each client's individualized care plan
- Adhere to HIPAA, infection control, and company policies
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while representing the agency
Qualifications
- Current Texas Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of one year of caregiving or CNA experience preferred
- Current CPR certification (preferred)
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Current automobile insurance
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Negative TB screening (if required)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist clients with mobility
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Experience
Experience caring for clients with:
- Dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Parkinson's disease
- Stroke recovery
- Hospice support
- Fall prevention
- Post-hospital recovery
- Chronic illnesses
- Mobility impairments
Schedule
We offer flexible scheduling, including:
- Full-time
