CAL Sports Academy is looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic Youth Volleyball Coaches to join our growing coaching team. We provide year-round volleyball instruction through classes, clinics, camps, leagues, and private lessons for athletes ages 6–18.
Whether you're a former player, current coach, Physical Education teacher, college athlete, or someone passionate about working with kids, we'd love to meet you.

Position Overview
As a Youth Volleyball Coach, you'll lead structured instructional classes while creating a fun, encouraging, and organized environment where athletes of all skill levels can learn and grow.
We're looking for coaches who genuinely enjoy teaching, mentoring, and helping young athletes become the best versions of themselves.
Responsibilities
As a Volleyball Coach, you will:
- Lead engaging volleyball classes for athletes ages 6–18.
- Teach age-appropriate fundamentals including:
- Serving
- Passing
- Setting
- Attacking
- Blocking
- Footwork
- Court movement
- Game strategy
- Create a positive, safe, and encouraging learning environment.
- Help athletes build confidence, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Adapt instruction to various age groups and skill levels.
- Set up and break down volleyball equipment before and after classes.
- Communicate professionally with parents, athletes, and fellow coaches.
- Assist with volleyball leagues, camps, clinics, tournaments, and special events as opportunities become available.
- Represent CAL Sports Academy with professionalism, enthusiasm, and integrity at all times.

Preferred Qualifications
- Volleyball playing and/or coaching experience.
- Experience working with children.
- Physical Education, Education, Coaching, or Sports Management background preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to obtain Pennsylvania Criminal History, Child Abuse, and FBI Clearances.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday: Typically 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Saturdays: Generally 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, depending on league schedules and enrollment.
- Approximately 8–15 hours per week to start.
- Additional coaching opportunities may become available through camps, clinics, private lessons, and leagues.
Compensation
- $22.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience, coaching ability, and overall fit.
- Paid coach development and training.
- Flexible scheduling.
- Opportunities for advancement into leadership roles, camps, clinics, private lessons, and league programming.
Our Hiring Process
We believe the best way to evaluate a coach is by seeing them interact with young athletes in a real coaching environment.
Our hiring process includes:
- Resume Review
- Interview
- Two-Hour Coaching Observation
- Background Clearances
- Employment Offer
Following hire, all new coaches participate in a 60-day Introductory Coaching Period, during which they receive mentorship, feedback, and ongoing support to help them succeed as members of the CAL Sports Academy coaching team.
