We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our immigration law team specializing in removal defense. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting attorneys by managing complex casework and ensuring timely submissions to courts and immigration agencies. The paralegal must be physically present on site at the office for the first few months, then occasional remote can be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Document Preparation and Filing
- Draft legal documents, including motions, affidavits, and written pleadings
- Prepare and submit applications for relief such as asylum, I-485, cancellation of removal (42(a) and 42(b)), and waivers.
- Gather and review documents and supporting evidence
- Assist clients in preparing for immigration court hearings and interviews.
- Assist with attorney preparation for hearings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on removal defense
- Experience drafting legal documents and preparing filings for immigration courts.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
- Familiarity with EOIR and USCIS procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday-Friday
Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
