Membership & Marketing Assistant
Position Summary The membership & marketing assistant serves as the first customer service touch point via phone calls and emails. In addition, provides data entry, clerical support, membership, and marketing support. This position requires a keen eye for detail.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
General Office Administration
- Answer phone calls
- Process incoming mail
- Process outgoing mail and shipments such as UPS and FedEx
- Other duties as assigned
Membership
- Respond to inquiries from members and non-members
- Update database as required for institutional members
- Prepare membership reports
- Update member prospect lists
- Assist with the dues renewal process for all members
- Other duties as assigned
Member Services
- Review and approve job postings
- Provide support for annual awards program
- Provide support for benchmarking surveys
- Other duties as assigned
Marketing
- Serve as proofreader of marketing material, both print and electronic
- Assist with email campaigns and routine membership communications
- Support the director of membership & marketing and marketing manager with additional marketing activities as assigned
Qualifications and Training
Educational/Experience:
Required: Minimum of a two-year associates degree, bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education and work experience. Office and/or association experience required. Minimum of 2-4 years related membership, database management, or customer service experience.
Skills and Abilities: Exceptional proofreading skills
- Strong organizational, administrative, and customer service skills
- Strong data-entry skills
- Eye for detail with history of accurate, precise work
- Ability to collaborate with wide range of people
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with AMS database system
- Proficiency with office telephone system
- Proficiency with office machinery and equipment
Working Environment
- This is a part-time position (25-30 hours per week)
- Regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday
