JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Financial Analyst is an integral member of the Fiscal Planning Department Decision Support (DS) Team, providing data-driven financial analysis and cost accounting support to advance organizational performance. This role develops and delivers meaningful insights through ad hoc and recurring reporting, service line profitability analyses, and pro forma development for new products and services. This work is used in making financial, operational, and strategic decisions across the health system.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related field Required

2-3 years minimum of Decision Support experience in acute care setting Required

Willingness to be 100% in-person on-site five days per week Required
-
Problem solving skills beyond traditional accounting or IT functions
-
Advanced use of Excel functions
-
Proven ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights using narratives, charts, graphs, & dashboards to show patient & financial impacts

Use of critical thinking to identify trends, recognize anomalies, and investigate inconsistencies before finalizing analyses

Create what-if scenarios to enhance revenue & cost savings opportunities
-
Ability to trace, define, & improve workflow processes

Knowledge of Lean and HRO principles helpful

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform system maintenance and reconciliations between DS and source systems
-
Create standard templates in DS system and reporting criteria for uniform report delivery

Create and maintain dashboards of determined KPIs
-
Perform ad hoc reporting as requested

Research abnormal findings in data and address issues within Decision Support (DS) and E HR systems

Develop pro formas for new products and services

Oversee coordination and submission of Joint Annual Report

Handle submissions of HSDA equipment registry and related data for State of TN
-
Prepare annual AHA surveys

Serve as liaison and source of finance-related knowledge for all levels of management across hospital system
