Duties
- Assist veterinarians with clinical examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures, ensuring all protocols are followed with precision.
- Perform animal restraint and handling using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including sample collection and analysis, to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain aseptic technique during procedures such as animal catheterization and wound management to prevent infection.
- Support pet care activities such as grooming, feeding, and administering medications, ensuring animals are comfortable and stress-free.
- Operate diagnostic equipment including X-ray machines, ensuring high-quality imaging for accurate assessments.
- Manage animal husbandry tasks like feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status to promote optimal animal physiology.
- Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting cleaning or extraction processes.
- Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and equines with confidence in animal anatomy knowledge and dog training techniques.
- Maintain detailed records of treatments, laboratory results, and patient progress to ensure seamless communication within the team.
Skills
- Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry skills that demonstrate your dedication to pet care.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to support clinical accuracy.
- Experience with veterinary critical care procedures and laboratory testing enhances your ability to handle complex cases confidently.
- Skilled in dog handling, pet grooming, and pet training techniques that promote positive interactions with animals.
