Job Summary:
The Bar Manager at Safari Fun Park is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bar, ensuring a high-quality, efficient, and enjoyable experience for guests. This includes managing staff, inventory, customer service, and ensuring the safe and responsible service of alcohol. The Bar Manager will also work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and profitability while maintaining a positive, family-friendly atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bar Operations Management:
- Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring that the bar is stocked, clean, and organized at all times.
- Monitor the quality and presentation of drinks, ensuring consistency and excellence in every beverage served.
- Maintain efficient bar flow during busy periods, ensuring quick and courteous service to guests.
- Create and update the bar menu, including drink specials, seasonal cocktails, and promotions, while aligning with the FEC’s theme and guest preferences.
- Staff Supervision & Development:
- Manage and supervise a team of bartenders, barbacks, and other bar staff, providing leadership and direction.
- Recruit, hire, train, and onboard new bar staff, ensuring they are well-trained in drink preparation, safety protocols, and customer service.
- Create schedules that ensure adequate staffing during peak hours while managing labor costs effectively.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, high performance, and excellent guest service.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Customer Service & Guest Experience:
- Ensure exceptional customer service by greeting guests, addressing concerns, and ensuring that every guest has a positive experience at the bar.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and complaints, resolving issues to the satisfaction of guests.
- Create a welcoming, fun, and lively atmosphere that aligns with the family-friendly environment of the FEC.
- Work closely with the events team to provide customized drink offerings or services for special events, parties, or corporate bookings.
- Inventory & Ordering:
- Manage inventory of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, bar supplies, and glassware.
- Order supplies and ingredients in a timely and cost-effective manner, ensuring that the bar is always fully stocked.
- Monitor usage and track waste to control costs and reduce inventory loss.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, usage, and orders.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure the bar adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the sale and service of alcohol, including checking IDs and adhering to alcohol service laws.
- Enforce the FEC's policies related to responsible alcohol service, including monitoring guest consumption and taking appropriate actions when necessary.
- Ensure that staff is trained on safety protocols, including how to handle intoxicated guests, prevent over-service, and manage emergency situations.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to sanitation and safety regulations, including the proper handling and storage of alcohol and other bar-related products.
- Financial & Budgeting:
- Assist in the preparation and management of the bar’s budget, tracking expenses, revenue, and profitability.
- Monitor daily sales and use this information to forecast sales trends and adjust staffing and inventory levels accordingly.
- Manage cash flow, handling cash deposits, and ensuring accurate reporting of sales and tips.
- Implement strategies to increase revenue, such as up-selling, drink promotions, and special events.
- Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Collaborate with the kitchen, events, and guest services teams to ensure smooth operations during events, busy periods, or private bookings.
- Work with the marketing team to create promotional materials, happy hour specials, and seasonal drink menus that attract guests to the bar.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure that bar equipment is in good working condition and that any issues are promptly addressed.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in bar management, bartending, or hospitality, preferably in a high-volume, entertainment-focused environment.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with a proven track record of managing teams and operations efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktails, including the latest trends in the beverage industry.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest complaints and provide exceptional experiences.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling, and inventory management software.
- Knowledge of safety and health regulations related to alcohol service and sanitation.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and move quickly around the bar area during busy times.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs, including boxes of supplies, bottles, and kegs.
- Comfortable working in a noisy, high-energy environment with the ability to focus and maintain a calm demeanor under pressure.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
