Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including pediatric dentistry and orthodontics.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners are ready for use.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
- Manage dental records using EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; document treatment details accurately while maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies.
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary, especially for pediatric or medically complex patients.
- Support infection control protocols including dental sterilization procedures, instrument processing, and adherence to healthcare infection prevention standards.
- Act as a dental receptionist by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Skilled in dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines; experience with dental x-ray is essential.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, team members, and healthcare providers.
- Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) preferred; ongoing training in healthcare infection control is advantageous.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
