Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Laundry Aide to support the cleanliness and sanitation standards of our healthcare facility. As a Housekeeping Laundry Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patient rooms, common areas, and laundry services meet strict health and safety regulations, contributing to the overall well-being of our residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to ensure sanitation and safety.
- Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control protocols.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners safely and efficiently while adhering to OSHA standards.
- Follow proper chemical handling procedures for cleaning agents to prevent hazards and ensure environmental safety.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices when moving furniture, linens, or laundry carts.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules and laundry inventory levels for accountability and quality assurance.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols related to environmental services, infection control, and OSHA regulations to promote a safe working environment for all staff members.
Experience
- Prior experience in healthcare facilities housekeeping or custodial roles is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning techniques specific to healthcare environments, including floor care and sanitation practices.
- Familiarity with the use of cleaning equipment and chemical agents used in hospital or similar settings.
- Experience handling laundry operations within a healthcare or institutional setting is preferred.
- Understanding of safety protocols related to chemical handling, manual handling, heavy lifting, and infection prevention measures.
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience in hospitals or healthcare facilities will be considered an asset.
- Strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness while following safety guidelines at all times.
