- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by following proper sanitation procedures and cleaning schedules
- Handle food with care to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety management protocols are followed
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service times
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations within the food industry or restaurant settings
- Knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling, and sanitation practices
- Skilled in recipe adherence, meal preparation, and operating kitchen equipment safely
- Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques and proficiency in food safety management
- Experience with menu planning, catering, serving, and working collaboratively with kitchen teams
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and ensure smooth operations
