About the Role
As a Marina Dockhand, you work on the water and on the shore as part of our frontline team. Every shift, team members rotate across all key areas of the marina: fueling boats, running the shuttle skiff, managing the private parking lot, working in the retail store, and keeping the entire property clean and well-maintained.
Your job is to deliver safe, steady service to our guests while taking good care of Lake Tahoe.
Core Principles: Safety, Service, Sustainability
Mottos: "Slow is steady, steady is fast" and Semper Paratus (Always Ready)
Daily Shift Rotation Responsibilities
- Fueling Operations: Safely fuel powerboats, sailboats, jet skis, and work craft. Secure lines, handle fuel pumps carefully, and follow all safety and spill prevention standards.
- Skiff Operations and Water Shuttles: Run guest shuttles to and from the buoy field. Assist with mooring, handle lines properly, and follow water safety rules.
- Parking Lot Management: Monitor the private parking lot. Greet guests, collect parking fees, process payments, direct traffic during peak hours, and keep fire lanes clear.
- Retail Store and Guest Service: Assist guests in the store, handle sales, help with buoy check-ins, and answer questions about marina services and lake regulations.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform daily upkeep across docks, gangways, store walkways, fuel stations, and parking grounds. Sweep sand, pick up litter, clean work areas, and empty trash and recycling containers before they overflow.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong team mindset with the ability to rotate through different stations during a single shift.
- Clear focus on safety and willingness to speak up if something looks wrong.
- Friendly, professional attitude when working with guests, even during busy periods.
- Comfort working outdoors on the water and on foot in variable weather.
