Responsibilities
- Install, replace, and calibrate water meters using handheld meter readers, power tools, and specialized equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct utility locating to identify underground water lines and ensure safe excavation and installation processes.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on water meters and related mechanical or electrical components.
- , low voltage systems, and cabling tools to access meters in elevated or hard-to-reach locations..
- Document all work activities accurately using technical proficiency with field data collection devices and manual recordkeeping methods.
- Engage with customers professionally during installations or service calls to explain procedures and address questions with excellent customer service skills.
- Lift heavy equipment safely through manual handling techniques and use climbing skills when accessing elevated work sites outdoors.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in removing and replacing water meters from the sizes 5/8 to 8 inch.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage systems, and power tools operation.
- Familiarity with utility locating techniques,
- Ability to read meters accurately and interpret basic math calculations for measurements and data analysis.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record;
- Comfortable walking extensive distances outdoors while carrying tools or heavy equipment; climbing ladders or structures as needed.
- Knowledge of safety protocols including heavy lifting techniques, manual handling best practices, climbing safety measures, and outdoor hazard awareness.
- Excellent communication skills to provide outstanding customer service during field visits; ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
