American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Martinsville, VA, requiring a minimum of 1 year of ED experience and active Virginia or compact RN licensure.

Work setting is a 220-bed acute-care hospital Emergency Department with 34 beds
-
Serves all patient populations including pediatric, adult, and geriatric
-
Common diagnoses and treatments include chest pain, CHF, COPD, and psychiatric cases

Patient ratio is 1:5

EMR system is Medhost
-
Day/evening shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
-
Weekend hours required every other weekend
-
On-call required as needed
-
Floating required as needed
-
13-week contract
-
Active VA or compact RN license required
-
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, CPI/Handle with Care, and NIH Stroke Scale — all must be AHA-issued and in hand prior to start

Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience required

Candidate's permanent address must be 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates and eligibility

Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment

Consent to random on-site drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form are required

Orientation is held bi-weekly on Tuesdays

Scrubs of any color are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
