American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center in Burlington, WI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and a full suite of emergency certifications.

Work setting is a 123-bed Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center in Burlington, WI
-
Emergency Department with 14 beds serving patients from neonates to geriatrics
-
Patient population includes chest pain, abdominal pain, stroke/neuro, trauma activations, STEMI, and psychiatric patients (~2 psych patients per week)
-
Pediatric cases represent approximately 1% of the patient population
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights; tech ratio is 1:10
-
12-hour night shifts, 1800–0600, 36 hours per week (3 days)
-
Weekend rotation every 3rd weekend
-
Alternating holiday coverage required

No on-call or call-back requirements

No floating required

Epic EMR (experience preferred); Alaris and Pyxis also in use
-
Active WI RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS

Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
-
Proficiency in triage, RSI/intubation assistance, procedural sedation, restraints, mass transfusion, stroke/neuro alert protocols, trauma activations, and cardiac STEMI care
-
Experience with air transport AMI patients is relevant to this role

Epic EMR experience preferred

1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year required for consideration

Unit support includes patient care techs, a charge nurse (typically carrying a full patient load), phlebotomy assistance, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist coverage, and mid-level provider coverage from 10a–10p

Bedside and nurses station telemetry monitoring available

Orientation consists of 1 day of hospital orientation and 1 day of unit orientation

Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; requests beyond 7 days require additional approval
-
Any scrub color is acceptable
