Overview:
Help Children and Families Feel Supported
Cedar Oaks Clinic is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Child & Adolescent Therapist to provide outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, and their families.
We are a locally owned, growing mental health practice committed to providing thoughtful, accessible, and whole-person care. Our multidisciplinary team includes therapists, psychiatric providers, medical providers, case management, and administrative staff who work together to support patients beyond a single appointment.
We are looking for a therapist who genuinely enjoys working with young people, values teamwork, and wants to be part of a practice where clinicians are supported as people.
Position Overview
This is a full-time employee position primarily based at our Raleigh or Wake Forest office.
The therapist will provide regular in-person care to children and adolescents, with the opportunity to work remotely through telehealth for up to one or two scheduled days per week. Telehealth flexibility will depend on caseload needs, clinical appropriateness, and successful completion of onboarding.
Because many pediatric patients attend school during the day, some afternoon or early-evening availability will be needed.
What You’ll Do
- Provide individual therapy to children and adolescents
- Complete comprehensive clinical assessments and individualized treatment plans
- Partner with parents, caregivers, and family members when clinically appropriate
- Help young patients strengthen emotional regulation, coping, communication, and behavioral skills
- Treat concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, behavioral challenges, adjustment difficulties, grief, and family stress
- Coordinate care with psychiatric providers, medical providers, schools, case managers, and other members of the treatment team
- Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation
- Participate in team communication, consultation, and practice meetings
- Provide telehealth services when clinically appropriate
- Help create a welcoming, safe, and affirming environment for children and families
Who We’re Looking For
The right candidate will be:
- Warm, dependable, and comfortable connecting with children and adolescents
- Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with parents and caregivers
- Collaborative and willing to coordinate with other members of a patient’s care team
- Organized and able to manage documentation and follow-up responsibilities
- Open to feedback, professional development, and continued learning
- Committed to ethical, inclusive, and patient-centered care
- Interested in contributing to a supportive and growing practice
- Comfortable providing both in-person and telehealth services
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a related behavioral health field
- Current North Carolina license or associate-level license, such as:
- LCSW or LCSWA
- LCMHC or LCMHCA
- LMFT or LMFTA
- Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Psychological Associate
- Experience working with children, adolescents, or families
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and within required timeframes
- Ability to meet applicable background-check, credentialing, and insurance-panel requirements
Experience with play therapy, trauma-focused treatment, family therapy, CBT, DBT-informed interventions, neurodivergent children, behavioral concerns, or parent coaching is welcomed but not required.
