Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, slicers, fryers, and food processors
- Follow food safety protocols and handle ingredients with proper hygiene practices to prevent contamination
- Assist in meal preparation for daily service, catering events, or special functions
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning routines
- Support kitchen staff by communicating effectively about orders, timing, and ingredient needs
- Adhere strictly to recipe guidelines and portion control to ensure consistency across all dishes
Experience
- Prior experience in a food industry setting such as restaurants, catering services, or dietary departments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, knife handling, slicing methods, and food safety management
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus
- Knowledge of menu planning and meal assembly processes
- Ability to operate various kitchen appliances safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with food handling regulations and safety standards in production environments
