Position Overview
The People Operations & Payroll Senior Associate is responsible for overseeing payroll administration and managing day-to-day people operations to ensure an exceptional employee experience. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, maintains HR systems and employee records, administers benefits, supports compliance with employment laws, and partners with leadership to improve HR processes and programs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about creating efficient, employee-centered operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

People Operations
- Administer HRIS and maintain accurate employee records.

Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes.

Facilitate new hire orientation and employee documentation.

Manage employee personnel files and ensure document compliance.

Support employee lifecycle activities including transfers, promotions, and status changes.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, policies, and HR procedures.

Recommend and implement improvements to HR processes and workflows.

Assist in processing payroll on as as-needed basis.
- Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and voluntary benefits.

Coordinate new enrollments, qualifying life events, and open enrollment activities.

Reconcile benefit invoices and collaborate with benefit providers.

Educate employees on available benefit programs.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and payroll regulations.

Maintain compliance with FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ACA, and wage and hour laws.

Assist with internal and external audits.

Maintain confidentiality of employee information and company records.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare payroll, headcount, turnover, and workforce reports.

Analyze HR and payroll metrics to identify trends and opportunities.

Support compensation planning and annual salary review processes.
- Employee Experience
- Foster a positive employee experience through responsive HR support.

Assist with employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs.

Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives
Qualifications

Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of HR and payroll experience.

Experience processing payroll for multi-state organizations preferred.

Strong knowledge of employment laws and payroll regulations.

Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Compensation
The expected base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and other compensation programs.
