Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including X-ray imaging, oral surgery, endodontics and prosthodontics.
- Take and develop dental X-rays accurately while maintaining strict adherence to dental x-ray safety standards and HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Manage patient records using Dentrix to document treatment details clearly and efficiently.
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
- Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures using aseptic technique to prevent infection spread.
- Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical history forms, and providing pre- and post-treatment instructions with excellent patient care skills.
- Maintain clinical cleanliness by adhering to infection control policies and ensuring all dental equipment is properly sanitized and maintained.
- Assist with dental instrument processing, dental sterilization procedures, and handling dental equipment including 3D scanners when applicable.
- Collaborate with the team in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and the dental reception team to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent service.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential.
- Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics and prosthodontics enhances your ability to support diverse treatments effectively.
- Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques and medical imaging ensures accurate diagnostics while maintaining safety standards.
- Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control policies along with aseptic technique is crucial for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques increases procedural efficiency and patient comfort.
- Excellent communication skills combined with knowledge of dental terminology enable clear explanations to patients about their treatments.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
