Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Driver/Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have passenger van driving experience and a solid driving record. This individual will also complete maintenance tasks, so must have some experience in general repairs as well.
Responsibilities
- Transport residents to appointments throughout the Des Moines area using a 15-passenger wheelchair bus or town car.
- Must be able to operate wheelchair lift, properly secure wheelchairs and wheel residents inside and ensure resident check in at their location.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the facility vehicles.
- Conduct regular life safety inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs to ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain documentation.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment, such as light plumbing, drywall repair, painting and other work tasks as assigned.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to requests from staff and management in a timely manner, as well as outside of the facility as a representative of Ramsey Village.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient operations and resolve any facility-related issues as directed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate tools and equipment safely.
- A customer service-oriented mindset with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Experience in a health care setting helpful but not required.
- Position is part of an every 4th week on call rotation.
