American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU experience for a night shift travel assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital in South Carolina.

NICU unit at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma academic teaching hospital with 865 staffed beds
-
Pediatric, neonatal, and infant patient population

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Holiday rotation required

Every other weekend required
-
On-call is not required
-
Floating within scope may be required depending on experience; no floating to sister facilities

Charting via Epic (experience preferred)

Scrubs: Caribbean Blue

13-week contract
-
Current RRT certification (NBRC) required

South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (SC RCP) license required — license must be in hand at time of start; candidates with a pending license may be considered

License required if applicable

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, PALS, and NRP

Minimum 2 years of experience with pediatric, neonatal, and infant populations

SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
-
All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on manager and unit needs
-
Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
-
Parking is free on nights and weekends, with a one-time $20 fee for a parking pass
