About The Indy Lab
The Indy Lab is a Preschool and Parenting Center for children ages 18 mos - 6 years old that provides hands-on learning dedicated to sparking curiosity and creativity in young children. This summer, we're bringing together an incredible group of campers and we need passionate, energetic counselors to make it happen.
The Role
We're hiring a full-time Camp Counselor for our Summer 2026 session. You'll be a mentor, motivator, and go-to guide for campers throughout the program — helping create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every kid can thrive.
Dates: July 1 - Aug 14
Hours: Full-time (approximately 40 hours/week)
Compensation: $20/hour | Paid position
What You'll Do
- Supervise and support campers throughout daily activities
- Lead and assist with scheduled programming, games, and group projects
- Build positive relationships with campers and encourage participation
- Ensure camper safety and enforce camp policies at all times
- Communicate with staff and leadership to keep things running smoothly
- Help with setup, cleanup, and general camp operations as needed
Who We're Looking For
- Current college student or recent graduate (any major welcome)
- Experience working with youth — childcare, tutoring, coaching, volunteering, etc.
- Energetic, patient, and genuinely enjoys being around kids
- Reliable, responsible, and a strong team player
- CPR/First Aid certification a plus (or willingness to obtain before start date)
- Must be available for the full duration of the summer session

Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or teaching is highly valued
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Skills in classroom management and behavior management strategies to foster a safe learning environment
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) to ensure camper safety
- Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities is a plus
- Familiarity with special education needs or working with children with disabilities enhances your ability to support diverse campers
- Passion for working with youth combined with strong communication skills to connect effectively with children, parents, and team members
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
