Hinsdale Advanced Eye Care is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing team. We are a privately owned, technology-driven eye care practice committed to providing exceptional patient experiences through compassionate care, teamwork, and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical and ocular histories
- Perform preliminary testing including visual acuity, refraction, tonometry, visual fields, OCT imaging, retinal photography, and other diagnostic testing as needed
- Assist doctors with patient flow and clinical procedures
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
- Maintain examination rooms, equipment, clinical supplies, diagnostic contact lenses
- Assist with contact lens orders and insurance claims
- Work on prior authorizations, medication orders and refill requests
- Ensure an exceptional patient experience through professional and compassionate service
- Support other team members as needed to promote efficient office operations
Qualifications
- Previous ophthalmic or optometric technician experience preferred
- Certification (COA, COT, or equivalent) is a plus but not required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-centered culture
