We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher to join our General Studies team. In this role, you will deliver engaging and comprehensive mathematics instruction for Algebra II students at a private boarding high school in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The candidate will ensure continuity of learning during a temporary staffing period for two 45-minute sections of Algebra II (4:00 pm - 5:30 pm Monday - Thursday) with the potential for return in the 2027-2028 academic year for up to a full five-period schedule. Your passion for teaching, combined with your expertise in curriculum development and classroom management, will inspire students to develop their mathematical skills and confidence. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson aligned with curriculum standards, ensuring clear learning objectives for each class session (lesson plans not required)
- Deliver engaging math lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, respectful learning environment that promotes student engagement.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing timely feedback and support
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance in accordance with school policies
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field; teaching certification preferred
- Prior classroom experience, preferrably in teaching math at middle school or high school level
- Strong knowledge of instructional best practices in math education
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners
