Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing the flow of materials and products, ensuring that all shipments are packaged securely. This role requires the ability to operate various types of equipment, including forklifts and cranes.
Responsibilities:
- Loads and unloads trucks using material handling equipment.
- Determines method of shipment and posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage as necessary.
- Checking the details of orders, including the quantity and type of goods.
- Packaging items securely to prevent damage during transit.
- Verifies quantities to be part-marked, packaged, and shipped and examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Performs any task required to support customer requirements and company goals.
- Must contribute to a positive work environment.
- Training of new employees that apply to shipping and receiving responsibilities.
- Stamps, stencils, labels, or affixes identifying information and shipping instructions onto cartons, pallets, crates, or containers as required.
- Meets established standards for productivity and quality. Confers with supervisor when problems arise which impact expected level of performance.
- Ability to communicate well and work with others.
- Monitors and maintains appropriate inventory levels of shipping materials and supplies.
- Performs part validation per written work instructions.
- Prepares and secures cartons, crates, pallets, and other containers for shipment of goods.
- Must be able to work over-time as require.
- By using the company’s MRP system to verify deliveries, put parts on hand and create packing slips.
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a Shipping Clerk or similar role
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures
- Hands-on experience with shipping software and databases
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- High school diploma; additional qualifications will be a plus

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
