Position: CNC Router & Engraver Operator
Reports To: CNC Dept. Supervisor
Job site: Reports to work in person at Almetek: 2 Joy Dr. Hackettstown NJ 07840
Function: Responsible to produce quality parts by operating CNC routers and engravers, producing, and cleaning them in a timely manner. Follows work instructions set forth by CNC Dept. Supervisor and reports any issues to the Programmer or CNC Dept. Supervisor.
Employment type: Full-time role. Hourly, non-exempt. Direct hire.
Hours: Monday-Friday from 7 AM- 3:30 PM. Occasional overtime; this position may require more than 40 hours per week and weekends. No swing shifts!
Compensation: $20-24/ per hour depending on experience

Job Duties:
- Meet production goals in a safe and timely manner by operating CNC routers and engravers based on training and incoming production work orders.
- Run multiple machines at once with minimal downtime, demonstrating strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Properly load raw material on the machines, change tool bits regularly, keep an eye on machines in operation to make sure they are producing the parts correctly, remove the finished parts, clean the parts, count good parts and scrap parts.
- Assist with the ACES line of machines as needed including running, scanning, performing quality control checks, and crimping.
- Manually handle raw sheet material (up to 10 lbs.) on a regular basis. Occasionally load extra-large rolls of material (up to 100 lbs.) onto machinery with the use of assistive devices.
- Check material dimensions and product quantities using basic math. Additional tools used to complete a task may include tape measure, digital calipers, wrenches, box cutters, cutting shears.
- Remain alert and focused during operations in order to notice when machines are ready for new material or bit changes so there is minimal downtime.
- Ensure that material is available and if not let Supervisor know if additional materials are needed.
- Maintain quality standards. Notice any defects in parts and report any quality issues to the Supervisor or Programmer.
- Regularly empty out vacuum bags and garbage bags (up to 40 lbs.) as needed.
- Report maintenance needs or mechanical breakdowns to Supervisor.
- Work with the department as a team. Assist in other tasks as deemed necessary by Supervisor, Department Lead, or Plant Management. Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions and work successfully with a diverse group of individuals.
- Be safety-focused at all times and follow all company safety policies. Follow OSHA regulations and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment. Report all safety concerns immediately to management.
- Keep workstations clean and organized, in line with the company’s 5S standards.
- Utilize a computer tablet to document work order progress via Scan & Track software.
- This position may require more than 40 hours per week, and Saturday’s based on workload.
Skills/Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read, communicate, and follow work instructions in the English language.
- The nature of the manufacturing environment is unpredictable; having an adaptable attitude is necessary.
- Must be comfortable with short turnaround times and deadlines, as well as shifting priorities.
- Must be a team player and willing to help company wide as needed (ex: Shipping help)
- Must be able to multitask and run/monitor multiple machine jobs at once.
- Attention to detail is important to ensure quality control.
- This position requires the ability to perform the physical aspects of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including but not limited to lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., sitting, standing, walking (including up/down stairs), bending, reaching, twisting, fine manipulation of hands and fingers, exposure to loud noises/oils/paints/fumes, as well as hot and cold climates in the plant.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
