Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in tax accounting and corporate accounting, with a strong understanding of financial concepts and regulations. This role will involve overseeing tax compliance, providing strategic tax planning, and ensuring adherence to GAAP standards. The Tax Manager will play a critical role in managing tax-related matters for our clients, including estate planning, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory reporting.
Duties
- Oversee the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance on estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law.
- Conduct audits to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
- Collaborate with clients on financial sales strategies and investment opportunities.
- Prepare financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy in account reconciliation.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
- Manage accounts payable processes and oversee payroll functions.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting efforts to support organizational goals.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of tax accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in corporate accounting and public accounting standards.
- Familiarity with GAAP regulations and auditing processes.
- Experience with financial report writing and interpretation.
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and debits & credits.
- Knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough account analysis.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with financial services including asset management and private equity is advantageous.
