Property Accountant-Start Immediately!
Looking for a skilled property accountant to support this amazing team. This role is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of partnering with property management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational success.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting reports for assigned properties
- Complete month-end and year-end close activities
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger accounts
- Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Review and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Monitor tenant billings, rent collections, and lease-related activity
- Analyze financial results and investigate budget variances
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes
- Support capital expenditure tracking and reporting
- Partner with Property Managers to review financial performance and operating expenses
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with audits and compliance requirements
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not mandatory.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property or real estate accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience with Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, RealPage, or similar property management software is preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Pay: $38-$50 hourly
