Palco Industrial Marking and Labeling, Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor in the custom labeling and printing industry, providing high quality pressure sensitive labels, marking and coding products to a diverse customer base. We are seeking a Press Operator Apprentice to join our production team in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.
This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined individual who enjoys working with machinery and is interested in learning a skilled trade. The Press Operator Apprentice will receive hands-on training to operate flexographic printing presses while working alongside experienced team members. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills, gain manufacturing experience, and build a long-term career in the printing industry.
Key Responsibilities
· Learn to safely set up, operate, and clean flexographic printing presses
· Assist with press setup according to job specifications
· Monitor print quality and inspect materials throughout the production process
· Learn to identify print defects using quality inspection equipment, including a strobe light
· Assist with ink management, plate mounting, and other press setup functions
· Follow established Quality Control standards from start to finish
· Maintain accurate production and quality standards throughout assigned jobs
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
· Follow all company safety policies and procedures
· Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
· No previous press operation experience required—we will train the right candidate
· Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn a skilled trade
· Basic math skills required
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
· Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
· Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
· Ability to work independently while collaborating with team members
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
· Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and physical required
