Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee large-scale commercial and municipal construction projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for on-site supervision, coordination of subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate has strong experience with public and commercial construction, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record managing large commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day field operations for large commercial and municipal construction projects, ensuring work is completed on schedule and meets quality standards.

Coordinate, supervise, and mentor subcontractors, tradespeople, and site personnel to maximize productivity and maintain positive working relationships.

Implement and enforce safety policies and OSHA regulations; conduct regular site inspections and safety briefings to maintain a safe work environment.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and owners to review plans, resolve field issues, and ensure project requirements are met.

Develop and maintain accurate daily reports, logs, schedules, and documentation for project progress, change orders, and site incidents.

Manage on-site logistics including material deliveries, equipment usage, and temporary facilities to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.

Monitor project costs and support management in identifying and controlling cost variances, delays, and change management.

Ensure compliance with municipal, state, and federal regulations, permits, and inspection requirements for public and commercial projects.

Drive continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies, proposing corrective actions, and implementing best practices on site.
Qualifications

Minimum 7+ years of hands-on construction experience with at least 3 years as a Superintendent or similar supervisory role on large commercial projects (around $10M+).

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, quality control, and safety regulations (OSHA).

Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to lead diverse field teams and subcontractors.

Proficient in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and construction contracts; experience with daily reporting and project documentation.

Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, coordinate logistics, and work under pressure to meet deadlines and budget targets.

Valid drivers license; relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, Certified Construction Manager) and union experience are a plus.
