Summary
The Central Dauphin School District is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to serve as the Dean of Students. This full-time position is essential for fostering a positive school environment, promoting student success, and ensuring the overall well-being of students. The Dean of Students will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and families to support academic achievement and social development while upholding the district's values and mission.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote a positive school culture and climate.
- Oversee student discipline and behavioral interventions, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of school policies.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify and address student needs, providing support for academic and social-emotional development.
- Serve as a liaison between students, parents, and the school community, facilitating communication and involvement.
- Coordinate and lead student support services, including counseling, mentoring, and conflict resolution programs.
- Monitor student attendance and engagement, implementing strategies to improve participation and reduce absenteeism.
- Organize and supervise extracurricular activities and events that enhance student engagement and school spirit.
- Conduct regular assessments of student programs and initiatives, making recommendations for improvements based on data and feedback.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices in student affairs.
- Collaborate with community organizations and resources to support student needs and enhance school programs.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field. Masters Preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania administrative certification or eligibility for certification.
- Minimum of three years of experience in educational settings, preferably in student services or administration.
- Strong understanding of student development, behavioral management, and educational best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience in conflict resolution and crisis management.
- Ability to analyze data and use it to inform decision-making and program development.

- Proficient in using technology and data management systems to enhance student services and communication.
