Title: Materials Control Lead

Position Summary
The Materials Control Lead is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through accurate inventory management, material flow coordination, receiving activities, and ERP transaction accuracy within the production facility.
This role works closely with Production, Purchasing, Shipping, and Quality teams to ensure raw materials, components, and production supplies are properly received, stored, transacted, and available to support production schedules and customer commitments.
The Material Control Lead plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting cycle count activities, identifying material shortages, and improving warehouse organization and material handling processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As part of their duties, the Material Control Lead works with other area managers ― production, purchasing, and sales― to optimize the company’s logistics operations. For instance, this technical profile coordinates with the Manufacturing Production Manager and Shipping (Outbound) Lead to implement product slotting and order picking strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and store inventory within the warehouse, maintain accurate ERP inventory transactions, and support material handling activities throughout the facility
- Develop, maintain, and improve processes to ensure accurate inventory management and material control
- Assist with inventory investigations and root cause analysis for discrepancies
- Collaborate with Production and Purchasing teams to identify and communicate material shortages and inventory concerns
- Maintain FIFO practices and inventory traceability where applicable
- Maintain accurate inventory locations and counts by investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner
- In partnership with Finance Team, perform cycle counts as requested
- When applicable, Manage the handoff of incoming goods to QA for inspection and return to warehouse bays.
- Work with Production Management to assist in planning warehouse space for incoming materials
- Prepare processes and provide training regularly for operators involved in inventory handling
- Work cross-functionally with Purchasing, Production, Shipping, and Finance teams to support inventory accuracy and production operations
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- 4+ years working in a manufacturing inventory role
- 2+ years of experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of material receiving
- Strong Inventory systems and controls knowledge
- Certified forklift operator is a plus but will train
- Proficiency in label printing software and MS365 apps is a plus

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
