Scaffold Driver
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and motivated Scaffold Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of scaffold materials and equipment to and from job sites while maintaining compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT), state, customer, and company regulations.
This individual should have experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably in the construction, industrial, or maritime industries, and be committed to delivering exceptional service to both internal teams and customers. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and willing to assist with material handling and scaffold operations as needed to support project success.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport scaffold materials, equipment, and supplies to and from customer job sites, shipyards, and company facilities.
- Load and unload scaffold materials using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and transported in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain accurate Bills of Lading (BOLs), delivery tickets, inspection reports, mileage logs, and other required documentation.
- Follow all DOT, OSHA, military installation, state, customer, and company safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding delivery schedules, delays, equipment needs, and job site conditions.
- Coordinate deliveries to ensure materials arrive safely and on schedule.
- Assist scaffold crews with loading, unloading, staging, and organizing materials at job sites as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and routine care of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries and interactions with customers.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required company training.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support project operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to maintain an active driver's license throughout employment.
- Experience operating commercial trucks, preferably in the construction or scaffolding industries.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, vehicle safety requirements, and safe driving practices.
- Commitment to safe work practices and excellent customer service.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with supervisors and dispatch.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background screening and meet all eligibility requirements for access to U.S. military installations, shipyards, and government facilities.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required base access credentials.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel as project demands require.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull scaffold materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to frequently bend, kneel, crouch, stoop, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely load and unload scaffold equipment by hand or with material handling equipment.
- Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times throughout the day.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, and humidity.
- Ability to safely navigate industrial facilities, active construction sites, shipyards, and military installations.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and high-visibility clothing.
- Ability to remain alert and focused while operating commercial vehicles and working around moving equipment.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, extended hours, and travel out of town as project needs require.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
