The Planning and Development Department (PDD) is a city department of over 500 employees across five main Divisions: Business & Strategy, Planning, Historic Preservation, Plan Review, and Inspections. The Planning & Development Department guides the physical development of the city by preserving our historic sites, planning what can be built where, and ensuring safe construction of buildings and infrastructure. A host of advisory and governing bodies of residents as well as elected officials provide oversight as the city grows and needs arise. The process is governed through development and enforcement of city codes and ordinances.
PDD is seeking a customer service orientated individual with knowledge of real estate, title, or escrow processes to join their team as a Property Records Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician. A Property Records GIS Technician is responsible for maintaining the department's citywide property ownership database and providing responsive, professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Typical duties include responding to customer requests and inquiries, reviewing property legal descriptions, mapping and approving parcel related permits, processing lot splits and combinations, and entering new subdivisions into City systems. Additional assignments may include assisting with map requests and updating various GIS layers and datasets. Customer service experience and familiarity with real estate, title, or escrow processes are strongly desired.
