The Opportunity
The Facilities Support Specialist provides hands-on custodial, maintenance, and logistical support to ensure a clean, organized, and operationally ready facility environment. This role focuses on execution of daily cleaning schedules, minor facility maintenance tasks, inventory coordination, and workspace support.
Through reliability, attention to detail, and customer service, the Specialist upholds cleanliness standards and contributes to overall workplace safety and professionalism. This position plays a critical role in supporting operational continuity and sustaining the company’s standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities (Principal Duties and Accountabilities *Essential Functions)

Execute daily cleaning, maintenance, and custodial tasks to maintain a safe and professional facility environment.

Inspect all facility rooms, restrooms, and shared spaces daily to ensure cleanliness, organization, and removal of trash.

Maintain restrooms and break areas, including monitoring and restocking consumable supplies.

Conduct scheduled deep-cleaning activities, including mopping, dusting, cleaning appliances, and sanitizing shared surfaces.

Maintain janitorial supply inventories, track usage, and identify reorder requirements for leadership approval.

Receive, restock, and organize supply deliveries in coordination with Facility department management.

Assist with meeting, conference, and event setup and breakdown.

Assemble, relocate, and configure office furniture and equipment as directed.

Support basic facility repairs such as painting, patching, replacing light bulbs, and moving equipment.

Provide escort duties for uncleared personnel in restricted or controlled areas as required.

Assist with shipping, receiving, packaging, and internal delivery of supplies, equipment, and materials, ensuring items are handled safely and delivered accurately.

Provide professional customer service support to employees and visitors.

Maintain compliance with company safety, cleanliness, security, and operational procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or Senior Facilities Technician.

Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Education

High School Diploma Required
Required Skills, Experience & Abilities

1–3 years of experience in facility support, custodial, or maintenance work.

Experience with janitorial supply management, deep cleaning, restocking, escort duties, and furniture assembly preferred.

Experience supporting office moves, furniture assembly, workspace setup, or event preparation preferred.

Experience working in corporate, government, laboratory, or controlled-access environments preferred.

Experience supporting shipping, receiving, inventory tracking, or supply coordination preferred.

Performs custodial and cleaning duties using janitorial tools, cleaning equipment, and approved cleaning chemicals.

Lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls supplies, equipment, furniture, or materials up to approximately 50 pounds, with or without assistance.

Uses cleaning equipment, carts, ladders, and basic hand tools as part of custodial and facility support duties.

Works in restrooms, break areas, offices, common spaces, storage areas, and utility areas.

May assist Facilities Technicians with basic maintenance support, furniture movement, supply transport, and workspace setup.

May be exposed to dust, dirt, noise, cleaning chemicals, and varying indoor temperatures.

Works around facility systems, equipment, and operational activities under supervision or direction.

Travels between rooms, floors, or buildings to complete assigned duties.
-
Works in controlled-access environments require adherence to security protocols and escort procedures.

May occasionally work outdoors and be exposed to weather conditions such as heat, humidity, or rain.

After-hours response to facility issues may be required.

Schedule flexibility to support operational needs, inspections, or maintenance activities.
