The Game Crafter is an on-demand tabletop game manufacturing company dedicated to helping creators bring their ideas to life. We specialize in producing great quality board games, card games and custom components for independent designers and publishers.
The goal of this position is to be the eyes and ears for the Production Manager on the shop floor. You will provide feedback on how processes are working, morale of the staff and how leadership is handling different situations as they arise. You will work with the Production Manager to devise new ideas on how to resolve any issues with regards to leadership, processes and loss of morale. The goal being to keep efficiency at a high level while keeping staff job satisfaction at a high level as well. The Game Crafter is looking for a personable, dynamic person to be our people-first presence on the floor. You'll be the trusted point of contact for policy compliance, accountability, and the human side of running a workplace: hiring, discipline, timesheets, and communication.
- Culture and Engagement: build initiatives that boost team morale and connection
- Growth and Development: Lead hiring effort for shop staff and offer informal coaching
- Policy and Accountability: develops, implements, and maintains methods and organizational systems that support daily work operations while ensuring compliance with established polices and procedures
- Other duties as assigned, including occasional assistance on the shop floor
Required Qualifications
- HR background strongly preferred (employee relations, disciplinary processes, hiring practices)
- Prior experience handling hiring, discipline, or employee relations preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — comfortable drafting staff-facing messages
- Strong interpersonal skills; approachable, fair, and consistent
- Comfortable having difficult conversations and holding people accountable
- Reliable and flexible with scheduling across two shifts
- Basic familiarity with timekeeping systems (or willingness to learn ours)
