We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and clinically skilled end-licensed Primary Therapist to join our multidisciplinary treatment team. This position is ideal for a mental health professional who is passionate about providing high-quality, client-centered care to adults navigating substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
The Primary Therapist is responsible for delivering direct clinical services to adult clients and their families across Partial Care (PC), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and Outpatient (OP) levels of care in the outpatient substance use and mental health treatment setting. In collaboration with the treatment team, the Primary Therapist ensures the delivery of comprehensive, individualized, and evidence-based care that supports long-term recovery and emotional wellness. There is one openings for candidates available to work M-Th 1-9pm & Fri 9-5pm.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Receive, review, and promptly respond to intake referrals upon case assignment.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, establish diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain consistent client engagement, including weekly check-ins during the first month of IOP treatment and ongoing follow-up as clinically indicated.
- Manage an assigned caseload based on clinical experience and level of expertise.
- Provide direct clinical services, including individual, group, family, and/or couple’s therapy.
- Deliver clinical services across all levels of care as needed.
- Assist clients with discharge planning and development of comprehensive aftercare plans.
- Provide case management services and facilitate referrals to outside resources when appropriate.
- Ensure cohesion and accuracy of all services documented within the clinical chart, including coordination with medical providers and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in Kipu in accordance with all applicable standards and daily log requirements.
- Utilize the electronic health record system for all clinical documentation and treatment updates.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly treatment team meetings to support continuity and quality of care.
- Consult regularly with supervisors regarding client needs, incidents, and level-of-care transitions.
- Communicate effectively with the Medical Director and other treatment providers to ensure coordinated and timely clinical care.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, supervision sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure effective delivery of comprehensive clinical services.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal confidentiality laws and regulations.
- Demonstrate professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and ethical clinical practice in all interactions.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related mental health discipline required.
- Current New Jersey licensure as one of the following:
- LCSW, LMFT, LCADC, LPC, LAC, LSW
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively through email, phone, and other forms of communication.
- Computer proficiency required, including experience with Microsoft Office programs; Kipu experience preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented behavioral health environment.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
