JOB TITLE: OASAS Residence Counselor BAND: 2
STATUS: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
· A NYS CASAC, CASAC-T or CASAC-P with the current valid credential issued by NYS OASAS.
OR
· High School Diploma or equivalent required. With a minimum of 1 year in substance use disorder (SUD), mental health, or intellectual disability preferred.
Expectation: is that the candidate will receive a credential of CASAC-T within 5 years of employment to maintain their status in an OASAS program.
Skills
· Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and interpersonal skills appropriate for the role.
· Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and agency personnel.
· Ability to do basic household maintenance. (cooking and cleaning)
· Valid NYS Driver’s License with 5 points or less required for program related travel.
RESPONSILBLE TO
· OASAS Program Manager
MAJOR FUNCTIONS
Administrative
· Comply with all Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
· Understand and comply with the laws, regulations, and policies applicable to the program services.
· Report suspected violations of laws, policies, or procedures.
· Maintain accurate records including client files, billing, medication logs, daily logs, expense sheets, purchase orders, petty cash, client funds, milage records, and menus.
Client/Program Related
· Be available for residents and staff needs; provide crisis support as necessary.
· Attending substance use consultations and in-service staffing as required.
· Provide a stable, structured, and nurturing home environment, model acceptable behavior and coping skills.
· Ensure residents’ physical and emotional needs are met, including clothing, nutrition, and healthcare.
· Supervise and participate in housekeeping responsibilities.
· Collaborate with social workers, managers, and residents on treatment planning.
· Participate in client discharge planning per treatment goals.
· Support residents in medication management.
· Plan and implement individualized skill-building activities.
· Provide follow-up support to discharged clients to ensure smooth transition and continued success.
· Plan, implement, and supervise social and recreational activities.
· Provide behavioral interventions as needed.
· Provide case management support.
Catholic Charities Agency and Community Related
· Attending all internal staff meetings and program related meetings, as necessary.
· Participate in in-service training sessions, workshops, conferences and/or continuing education programs within Catholic Charites or the larger community, as necessary.
· Participate in other duties, programs, and activities within the Department as directed.

Pay: $21.29 per hour
