Job Overview:
Job Summary-
Performs a variety of skilled mechanical duties involving the inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of various construction equipment and vehicles for Primoris Services Corporation.
Job Responsibilities-
- Conducts routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, cranes, and various trucks and trailers.
- Diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Performs engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake system maintenance, and hydraulic component replacements.
- Orders and maintains inventory of parts and supplies necessary for repairs.
- Documents all maintenance and repair activities accurately and timely.
- Ensures all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Operates equipment to test functionality after repairs.
- Assists in the training and mentoring of junior mechanics.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
Job Qualifications-
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in heavy equipment repair preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, preferably in a construction environment.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to heavy equipment maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
- Possession of a valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
