Clayton Sleep Institute is comprised of Board Certified sleep specialists, Registered Sleep Technologists and Registered Respiratory Therapists with years of experience in the field of sleep disorders. CSI is an independent sleep laboratory accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
We treat the full range of sleep disorders for patients of all ages. We participate in and lead clinical research into the science and medicine of sleep. We develop, sponsor and produce sleep education programs for patients, medical professionals, scientists and the general public
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for maintaining efficient operation of the sleep center in accordance with established policies and procedures within the Center. His/her role is to act as patient advocate and educator and physician liaison.
DUTIES
1. Makes sure lab and offices are patient ready at all times (i.e. exam room paper, toilet paper in the restroom, paper towels in holders, waiting room free of trash, etc.).
2. Greets patients, visitors and co-workers with a positive, helpful attitude, making sure all interaction is perceived as exemplary.
3. Answers phone calls and then screens to appropriate personnel. Answering phone is a large portion of this particular job opening.
4. Accepts incoming referrals from doctors’ offices and patients.
5. Schedules patient appointments and prepares corresponding paperwork.
6. Verifies proper insurance and demographic information has been obtained on each patient before the patient arrives for scheduled appointment.
7. Makes sure proper precertification and/or referrals have been obtained prior to the scheduled appointment.
8. Sorts and distributes daily mailing.
9. Request charts as necessary from outside CSI.
10.Prepare new or returning patient’s charts.
11. Follow each patient’s flow sheet diligently.
12. Completes billing procedures.
13. Educate patient regarding testing procedures.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS
Good typing and computer skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary for this position.
