Polygon Steel Structures is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Installation Foreman to lead field crews on commercial and high-rise construction projects throughout South Florida. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing structural steel installations, coordinating with General Contractors, and safely executing complex projects including elevator support steel, storefront structures, roof support systems, and multi-story steel buildings.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead structural steel installation crews in the field.
- Coordinate daily activities with General Contractors, superintendents, inspectors, and other trades.
- Read and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, erection plans, and specifications.
- Plan and execute installations of: Elevator divider beams, hoist beams, and header supports, Structural steel storefront support systems, Roof structures, mechanical supports, and equipment platforms, Multi-level structural steel buildings and mezzanines, Miscellaneous metals including stairs, railings, and architectural steel among others.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Coordinate crane operations, rigging activities, and material deliveries.
- Track manpower, productivity, and project progress.
- Identify and resolve field conflicts before they impact schedule or quality.
- Maintain communication with Project Managers and Operations personnel.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of structural steel erection experience.
- Minimum 3 years as a Foreman or Lead Installer.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel erection methods and sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Proficient with field layout, measurements, and installation tolerances.
- Knowledge of welding, bolting, rigging, and crane signaling.
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in occupied buildings and high-end commercial projects.
- Certifications in rigging, aerial lifts, forklifts, and fall protection.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience coordinating directly with other construction trades.
