Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fleet Manager to oversee the efficient operation and management of our transportation fleet. Duties
- Manage and monitor the entire fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal utilization and maintenance schedules are adhered to
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) such as super dispatch , analyze fleet data for continuous improvement
- Maintain effective phone call management through multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Implement and oversee fleet safety protocols, compliance with transportation regulations, and driver training programs
- Analyze logistics data to identify inefficiencies and develop strategies for cost reduction and service enhancement
- Collaborate with third-party service providers (3PL) to reduce downtime on trucks
- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles using GPS tracking data to ensure safety standards are met
- Manage inventory related to fleet parts
Experience
- Proven experience in fleet management or transportation planning within a logistics or supply chain environment
- Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS)
- Familiarity with GPS tracking technology, GIS software, and route optimization tools
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret logistics data for strategic decision-making
- Demonstrated organizational skills in managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage phone calls professionally over multi-line phone systems
- Knowledge of 3PL operations, transportation regulations, and safety standards is highly desirable
